security charge

    I was just wondering if any other couples are being charged for security by their wedding venue? Our hotel have stated they will be charging 145 euros for this service. I have viewed a lot of hotels and this is the first time I have come across such a charge.

    My venue is having two weddings on the same day so I guess the security charge is to keep the guests separate. With this in mind I think they have a cheek to charge us when they are making maximum profit by haveing two weddings on the same day.

    In fairness they have thrown in the bar exemption for free but its not really free if we are being charged this. I tried to reason with the wedding planner on this charge but he was insistent this was non negotiable and gave me some bullsh*t about needing security for insurance reasons.

    Anyone else experience this?

    Oo..... I really dont see the point/need in this charge never mind the security.

    If they need security due to insurance then they must have it all the time. Its their cost not yours. Are they asking you to pay the bar and waiting staff aswell?

    Never heard anything like it to be honest.

    OMG ! Never heard of that & i've being at weddings that have had two on same day & never heard anyone saying they had to pay for security?.

    Are they going to have some one outside directing everyone to the right room. Totally confused on this.
    Defo would argue that charge.
