For some reason i cannot view teletext on Channel 4 through Sky Digital. The only way i can view it is on analogue, but i am able to view teletext on Sky News, Sky Sports News and BBC1 through digital. Does anyone know why.
    Thanks

Channel 4 don't transmit Teletext on satellie?

The text on BBC is extremely basic.

I Was able to view teletext on channel 4 through digital up until a few months ago on my own television. I was in my brother in laws house last week and i could check it through his sky. I puzzled by the whole thing.

Are you on about digital text or the old fashioned teletext through the television set? I ask because digital text works perfectly for me on satellite when I try on Channel 4.

    Channel 4 text is online,

If you cannot find it i will dig out the link as i have it on another pc in my favourites.

Yeah its the digital teletext that i cannot recieve. I have the old fashioned teletext through the television if i turn off sky but i rather the digital version as you can scroll through the pages at your leisure instead of waiting on the pages to changes.
I have sent an email to sky but have as yet received no reply.

Don't know what Sky can do about it. It works for me.

Have you tried unplugging your Skybox from mains for a minute and plugging it back in?

Yeah. i unplugged it last night for a few minutes and tried again but no joy.
I know it was a bit of a longshot by contacting sky but i was hoping they might be to give me an idea on how to sort it.

I have also heard people saying C4 text on satellite is dead.

I was using it only this morning. Channel 104 on my EPG.

@Mossy: So you have a UK EPG then?

Since C4 Ireland is on a different transponder (and, I believe, still encrypted) to the free UK ones, maybe that might explain why it's not available on Irish C4 version.

If you manually tune in a UK C4 variant, is it possible to get digitext that way? I've personally never tried accessing digitext from Other Channels.

Yes. I have a FTV card in the box. AFAIK text wont load through Other Channels. The different transponder for the RoI would explain it. I will try on a digibox with an Irish subscription and see what happens
