In terms of the price it would be hard to go wrong with the one you've linked to, as you say, it will integrate well with the Sony TV, one remote etc.

BTW, it's currently on sale in Peats for €189, http://www.peats.com/cgi-bin/catalog.cgi?view_product=1&id=25025&sid=10&cid=123&scid=7399, which marginally cheaper than Pixmania when you factor in delivery, Pixmania total = €190.90.

It's in Powercity for €159 and you can collect in-store, http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-22-DZ260

and you can get it from Richersounds in Belfast for £120, about €130 - 135 depending on the exchange rate, with free delivery down here for Boardies, http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=SONY-DAVDZ260

This is just a quick check around.

Your choices really come down to budget and whether you want to play anything other than dvd. If you want bluray and want the media centre functions you can get with a PS3 in the same budget bracket (€300), then you'll have to either live with sound from the TV or extend the budget and go for a sound system as well. I don'y use an Xbox so can't comment on respective merits other than that the PS3 does quite well as a bluray player.

Ritz, could you elaborate on the media centre options offered by ps3? What would they allow me to do?

    Bird_man,

Yo could use a PS3 to store your photos, play MP3s, and playback video stored on a computer or onits own hard-drive, surf the net and it can act as another device on a home network as well as playing dvds, bluray and, of course, games.

You could hop along to the Playstation forum (Games/Console/Playstation) or google for more info. I've mine set up with MP3s, photos and videos on a hard-drive, but I haven't used it on a network. Very impressive device.
