I'm at a complete loss for this, cannot seem to get our Eircom Netopia box working wirelessly with sister's new netbook. It's the most up to date version of the distro. Do I need specific drivers for this? Any pointers?:(

Do you have any more details? How far are you getting and what have you tried so far? Can you detect your network or is it a case of the wireless not working at all?

Have you typed in the WEP key? Should be a long string of letters/numbers.

What chipset is the wireless card using? If it's a Broadcom of some sort, then there are all kinds of problems with the more recent Ubuntu distros ranging from drivers that just don't work to ones that appear to work, see the network but won't authenticate at all. There are solutions that basically involve reverting back to an older driver model (ndiswrapper), but it isn't pretty. I just gave up in the end and put a different mini PCIe card in mine :)

What's the distro? I couldn't get my Eee pc to connect to my wireless network either. I tried everything - WEP/WPA/disabled security - nothing would work. It could see the network but refused to connect. Installed UbuntuEeee and it worked straight away.
