sorry if that doesn't make sense^

I just realised that I never invoiced a company for a half day's work I did for them last June 2008. To be honest it was as much fun as work so am not too devastated if it's too late but I am entitled to a fee for being there and am wondering is it too late to send the company my invoice...?

    thanks in advance!

Not too late as far as I know, period for statute barrings is something like 6 years.

You could always say you did send them an invoice, but you've noticed they never paid it, and now you want to chase it up...

That may not be a wise move. There is an inference that the customer is not being entirely honest. Some people are quite fastidious about paying their bills on time and may resent any suggestion that it was their fault.
I would send the invoice and apologise for the fact that it is so late. I would explain that it was prepared but not sent. Say that the omission was only discovered during the end of year audit.

I used to be a Financial Controller, and I used to handle credit control. I assure you, invoices go missing all the time. It's absolutely normal to receive a phonecall from a creditor and not have any idea what invoice they're referring too.

Anyway, I would agree that being straight up about it is probably the best move. But from years of dealing with the morons who work in accounts, I would not be surprised if he is told to F-off.

    thanks for the above

I'll probably either just be honest and say I forgot completely or I'll say that I just found the invoice while moving house and that I must have forgotten to post it to them

we'll see what happens.... but money owed is money owed at the end of the day
