Does anyone know if you can get some kind of adaptor to plug an internal hard drive into a USB port instead?

I'm just wondering because I have an extra 250GB internal hard drive, but need a lend of an external hard drive to copy the stuff on my current hard drive. Can't get a lend of one, so am wondering if there are any other options.

Get a hard drive enclosure or caddy. A lot of places do them pretty cheap.

Does this esentially make an internal harddrive an external one you can use for backing up?

i.e. I would have an actual use for my 80gb drive if I replaced it?

Me again. Is there a difference between an IDE Hard Drive Enclosure and a SATA Hard Drive Enclosure? Found an IDE one for 15 euro posted, and just wondering if that one will work?

There is a difference between IDE and Sata. You just need to get an enclosure that will match your hard drive. What does the back of your drive look like?

    byte

That's a SATA drive, and seems to be a 2.5" laptop size drive (which fits inside PS3 if you wished).

Thanks byte. Just wanted to be sure before I bought anything. And like I said before, its easier to turn it into an external hard drive than to get a loan of one to copy whats on my current one. Thanks again.

(That makes no sense in writing, but I know what I'm trying to say :D)
