Obvioulsy an evolution of the current model but I like the looks, makes the others in this class like the Golf and Focus look very conservative. The interior however is a bit sober. It is supposed to be very good to drive continueing to use Ford Focus underpinings.

Waiting to see if they use the same 2.3 engine or perhaps the new 2.5 (280bhp) from the upcoming 6 mps. I believe it will be FWD again and rumours of no slip diff which doesnt sound too good. Exterior image seems to be the area targeted for the new MPS.

Is it just me or does the front end make it look a bit like the simple lad in school with the dopey smile?

Engines include 1.4, 1.6 litre petrol and 1.6, 2.2 litre diesel. MPS to arrive later.

2, 3, 6, MX5, RX8 (and that SUV yoke saddled with petrol engines for the moment) - that's a pretty strong, good-looking line-up. And still people buy Polo, Golf, Golf Hairdresser (Scirocco), Jetta, Passat etc..

The British press will give it grudging but fulsome praise and then promptly forget about it. They're waxing lyrical about the Fiesta which is basically a re-bodied, slightly less pretty Mazda 2.
