If this was announced tomorrow, would you go, and what would you expect to hear? How much would you expect tickets to be, and how many nights would you expect them to play, to justify making sure "enough" people got to see it!

Would be awesomeness. Tickets would be too expensive too afford adn would prolly sell out before going on sale. There would be anger and disappointment.

    :(

erm you'd probably wouldn't fit James' and Kirk's pedalboards into whelans let alone their array of amps.

and of course i'd go, why wouldn't ya go?

What a silly question. If you like Metallica of couse you'd go. If you dont like them, you wouldnt.

Therefore I would be there, up the front!

Would have thought their heads would be too big to fit in the door in Whelans.

It's funny how people usually always say they would go see a band in a small venue but not in a big venue (ie The o2). But the main reason they play in the big venues is because they'd sell out the small venues easy with overwhelming demand.

    People are music snobs.

I imagine most Metallica fans would go see them in a big venue as they seem to sell out every time. People like to see bands in small venues because they're more intimate, more exciting and generally the sound is a lot better. If that's snobbery then I'm a snob.

Metallica couldnt really do a small intimite gig, you know they're just geared too much towards that commercial, stadium sound in my opinion.

A study was done into why people can be musical snobs and it stems from what music you listen to as a teenager between the years of 13 and 17 or something. Was very interesting.

They do believe it or not. I recall them playing a gig at the Ministry of Sound a few years ago. They have done it many times in the US.

The Un-named Feeling EP is littered with B Sides recorded in a Paris club where they did an intimate show

Metallica(FRANTIC INC) would never play a small venue like Whelans. It's simply so far outside their rider's minimum spec.

They would not be able to supply the right
    -sound environment.
    -Insurance.
    etc etc......

Sure tons of people would go but that's not going make a difference.

maybe when they get too old and sound like crap they might be reduced to playing small venues who knows.

didn't they play in a similar type of venue in london about 15 years ago? gave away all their gear too iirc.

Metallica in a small venue in Dublin would be ****** killer!!! I'd probably get mashed to bits, though, being in a wheelchair!? I'd love it to happen.

    Nope.

I never liked them anyway, but after seeing the documentary they made during the St.Anger recording sessions I was quite surprised to realise what a bunch of whining little pussies they all are.
