I got the Breeze IBB and it's farely solid. A mate of mine had had ripwave a few years back and found it flaky, dunno what its like now. Are you going to the PS3 through wireless?

well its connected through the ethernet cable and the ripwave plugs into a socket then thats it

a mate of mine had that 2mb ripwave package but the signal was really bad, he has since returned it for one of their other products, but as you live in Dublin i presume you'd have better coverage then us here in Ennis
the thing most don't realise, for gaming its your upload speed that's most important, with the package you have shown us you have 2mb up which is brilliant, you will be able host large parties no problem, my eircom up is 678ks which is good aswell yet its almost a third of what your getting, so ya if you indeed get the full 2mb, even 1mb your sorted !

The one that gives you the best wireless router as part of the deal.
That rules out Eircom then, going by the obscene amount of posts here on people trying to change the NAT type for online play.

Latency on wireless broadband providers is usually callosal due to the inconsitency of the connection. I remember killy (some guy living in the middle of now where) always complaining about the connection he got from his wireless broadband.

UPC is great when every thing works.
Nightmare when you have to call customer service.

They do engineer calls on a saturday though, so tha tis a bonus.

Other than an issue with crap speeds when they upgraded the lines, I have had no problem with them since then

All my PS3 online games work great with it.

Terrible with the Wii though so if you have both, it is a consideration

    .

so how often would it not work?

question is, is it actually worth changing from my irish broadband 2mb to UPC 10mb?

I have had it since 10MB upgrade roll out and have not had an issue bar the initial low speed.
Had their 3MB before that and had issues 2, maybe 3, times

ethernet cable from modem to ps3 or if you have a wi-fi router you can connect wirelessly. you should have gotten a long black ethernet cable with the ps3

yeah i have that.. thats what i meant by straight plug in sorry.. so you just plug modem into socket then ethernet cable to ps3 ?

yeap thats pretty much it, with wifi you have to configure the connection settings on ps3 dont rememver if you have to configure ethernet. when its all connected go into internet connections and test connection

AFIK the PS3 has to be set to either wired connection or wireless.

You will have to select which one you want every time you swap (if you do for some reason)

Other than that you select your security level, enter the password and off you go
