I've been pointed towards samsyerman.ie for a plasma tv who I had never heard of before. I was thinking on travelling up pretty soon (good exchange rate). Can anyone tell me what they are like to deal with and has anyone had any bad experiences with them in relation to aftersales/repairs/returns/warranties etc
    Thanks

They deliver down here but Richersounds would be your better option as their prices are much cheaper, they also deliver to the South for boardies

Richersounds are out of stock of the panasonic plasma I'm after. They're discontinued. New models are due april / may. I'm presumming they'll be more expensive and possibly out of my price range. But also the exchange rate is favourable at the moment and so if they had the model I'm after I would take the plunge now.
A small concern about samsyerman is they are showing pictures of older panasonic models on the website eg the picture for the 42pz80 is I think the 42pz70 definately not a picture of a 42pz80. Not very professional looking. I know I would be ordering the pz80 but would it be a case of older stock with older firmware or would all pz80's the same.

Yeh I was in contact with them before but went to RS when I got a better deal... they had the wrong specs up on their site for the TV I was after and it seemed to be updated rarely at best

ring them, they're very helpful. when i was shopping around last month they were very straight on the phone and delivery to the south is 15 stg.

There are very little specs about the panasonic 42pz80 on samsyerman.ie only this:

"With its 2008 Panasonic Viera Plasmas, Panasonic brings an astonishing 1,000,000:1 contrast ration to the table. advanced pixel resolution and image-processing technology with the plasma TV's natural ability to beautifully reproduce fast moving images, so every detail is rendered with amazing clarity, and all the action is delivered with a high degree of fluidity.

    Technical Details
    30,000:1 Native / MEGA Contrast (1000000:1)
    V Real 3
    100hz Double Scan
    24p Input
    3 x HDMI rear"

I suppose the fact that I would be travelling up would mean I could verify what I was getting and ensuring it's the correct model etc. Would like to get some more opinions before I do? Richersounds appear much more professional but they won't have these models again.

I suppose a phone call will also give me a better idea and anyway will have to ring to check for stocks before I go up. 120 did you buy from them and would you recommend them

Are you sure they have the TV? They have a lot online that I rang up about and they said they weren't getting in again either. They even told me they weren't gonna get in a brand new version of an LCD TV which, they said, was discontinued!

I'll phone them tomorrow and get them to confirm what they have in stock and in which store. I'll decide then. The delivery charge of £15 is very good but probably only to Dublin, I'm in the midlands. I'd be happier driving up at least its bricks and mortar.

    Beware of Samsyerman.

They advertise products, take orders and payment, increase prices, take more orders and payment - all without actually having the products in stock, and while giving false promises of when they will have them in stock.

    Go elsewhere.

Richersounds are getting some stock of the pz80 in feb and I've been in contact with John McDonald to order one. I'm just more confident ordering from Richersounds nothing against samsyerman as I have never used them and don't know if they are good or bad. John Mc is a director and is easily contactable and as can be seen from comments here will even deliver the items personally. Richersounds didn't have stock at the time and so I was looking around to see who did.
Showing the picture of an older model on a website and showing the newer models details just turned me off. It's not that difficult to show the correct model on a web site. It's not just samsyerman other web sites do this too. It just isn't very professional and in my opinion doesn't give a good image of the company selling the products. I did ring them a while ago and they said they would have to order one from panasonic. I decided not to order from them.
