Problem streaming videos to PS3....

Im using NTL broadband.Iv a pc with some music & videos on it. The PS3 can play the music, but cant see any of the video files. Im getting error codes like 2006 & 2104. There is 141 video files, so at least one of em should be able to be played in the PS3. PS3 is set to Nat2 as well. iv forwarded the ports, iv turned it on & off (PS3 & router) still nothing. Any ideas? Any help is appreciated

What program are you using on the PC as the media server?

If its Windows media player, have you added the folder that the video files are into the library/monitor-folder section...?

Have you tried one of the video files on a usb stick?

was using windows media player, but a mate told me to try tversity. All good now. Thanks for the help!

Dont bother streaming ,it downloads and is such a waste, im sticking to my usb connections.

It downloads what? streaming just plays the video files from your pc on your playstation by passing the data through your home network , it doesnt affect your download limit of your internet connection. i think its more of a waste transferring videos over on usb connections.

You know The small computer things on the bottom right of my taskbar which shows the internet status, well how come when i play a movie from a folder on my computer and stream it to my ps3 , the "sent" and "recieved" packets go crazy fast when i either copy or stream a movie over from my pc to the ps3, if i was to copy a movie from pc through windows media sharing on ps3 then the sent packets would jump up by 700mb as would the downloads,
so I think it does effect ur download limit,
Correct me if im wrong.

That's because the computer monitors the network adapter, the computer sends files through this to your ps3, streaming does not effect your download limit.

Hmm really , thats great news then ,no point in using wires via usb , one more reason to be lazy lol.

The network connection icon is for your home network for example not for the internet.

If you try and access the internet then more packets will be added as you have to go outside your home network.

Packets will have to sent and received to stream a file to the ps3 !

Streaming is your own home network.ie Your PC to Your PS3

Downloading from the internet comes from outside your house. ie Someone elses server to your pc

Whatever comes from the internet affects your download limit.

Thanks for clearing it up for me buddy. Thank you! This is a great feature on ps3, I didnt stream to ps3 cuz i thought it affected my download limit, but thanks to all you guys I can go ahead and do it!
