    hi, long story short...

Went into the attic at xmas and saw very bad condensation on the inside of the felt (bad ventalation in the attic). Rang the company who provided the tiles for some vent tiles. The felt I have is not breathable so the biuklders should of put in vent tiles. I was quoted 50euro each for the tiles (im getting two), Is this price sound ok?

    cheers

cheers RKQ 4 the P.M. Would i need a certain type of vent tile or are they in a standard size?

There are a wide variety of conc tiles on the market but each manufacturer usually makes a matching vent tile. Certain vent tiles may be used with a few different tiles.

Check the size, especially the width of the tile. Is it a smooth flat finish or rippled / ridged?

I discovered condensation on the inside of the felt in the attic. Very bad on north side of the house, little on south side!

Its a new house, living in it 2 years. I never noticed it before but im rarely in the atttic.

The attic has insulation (pumped type). Theres air vents in the eaves/gutters but I feel this isnt providing enough ventalation.

I checked the ensiute shower fan, this is connected correctly and has a tube directing moisture to the air vents!

Ive had a stairs put into the attic this week and want to eventually floor the attic space.

The condensation is worrying me because the joists are getting damp & the insulation could be losing its effectiveness!

Im thinking about having air vent tiles put in! Cant think of any other solution?:confused::confused:

Ventilation will make a big difference. There was another recent thread on this topic and if I find it I can merge both.

Dear Lord. The thread is over 4 years old.

Any builders providers will have the roof vents.
