Casinos busy in Cork?

Are any regular posters here playing live in the casinos in Cork these days? I used to play a lot in the Macau but drifted away due to falling prize pools and the fact that I was really busy. I'm still really busy but am itching to get back playing again. I can go get the tournament schedules off the casino websites but that won't really tell me much about the games. When's busy and when's fun?

I used to like Friday nights in the Macau because there was always plenty of donkeys. These games weren't always much fun though as the regulars would spend all night bitching about them. I used to go in on Monday nights too. Monday's were usually more fun but the standard of poker was higher so it was harder to win. I usually just play the tournaments because I don't have the bank roll for the cash games.

I went for the first time in ages last night for a €55 double chance which got 45 runners i think.

As for standard well its a small buy in live tournament so i wouldnt even worry about any night been worse than others.

Standard is decent enough overall. I would say 28 is an average figure for touneys.

Must say I love the Macau. Great cardroom.

And the some of the girls that work there are like supermodels which is always nice.:)

I do miss those girls. I did almost defected to the Bank just because Lena was working there though.

I never realised the Bank was closed. Are we back to one casino in Cork?

On a side note - I've forgotten what time the Monday night tournie starts in the Bishopstown Bar. I've got classes on Monday evening so that might be convienient for me.

I first worked in Cork 5 years ago and it was one of the best jobs i've had, good money and the club was buzzing. The 10 Euro rebuy on a Sunday was crazy, 90 plus runners and most players lashing it all in on the blind, the record was well over 30 rebuys in one hour from one player. I don't understand why the Macau isn't as busy as the Fitz, there is no competition in Cork and it should be the best casino in Ireland. There should be at least 6 cash games running nightly in a club like this. The stand out thing about the club was always the quality of the waitresses. Has there ever been better looking women there than Monica and Kasia? Good times.

I haven't been in to the Macau in an age, can someone tell me what the cash games are like there these days? Thinking of popping in tonight. What time do they get going.... what games run.... are they profitable or all regs etc?

To answer my own question..... cash games are going strong. Big crowd in there. Although there was just one cash table running when I arrived, around 10.30. Another two opened within a few hours.
Played in a great 2/4 table for the night. It seemed like all regulars at the table, but there was only maybe two there that I thought were tough to play/read.

there were actually 4 games goin in macau last night at about 2pm , i debunked to the bank where a game had just kicked off and departed an hour later wHen twice could get no action with aa but did run qq into ak blah blah , on to la la to finish off the nights events , got 2 buy ins back to profit once the muinteoir stopped sucking out in the ROE .

Finally good beat stories were the order at the scrumptious brekkie in the Imperial .

    Recession what ****in recession ?

that 2 4 game looked savage , deep tanks only sat in for a few hands before i ventured out , i wonder where the trouble was in that table ?
