    Slumdog Millionaire....

    ... no question!

    PS - it's just 'Defiance' - there's no 'The' required! ;)

Slumdog millionaire is quite an interesting movie. Feelgood but without being a complete chick flick.
Defiance is an interesting from a historical re-telling, but I just wasn't that into the story, there was no action.
I haven't seen the reader yet.
Slumdog over defiance, would be my vote

    I'd go with Defiance.

Danny Boyle gives me a headache and The Reader looks like a downer.

Slumdog Millionaire definitely - one of the most refreshing films to get a wide release in quite a while. The Reader has a stunning performance from Kate Winslet, but otherwise it is a pretty dull and overlong (one of those films that is well made but does very little that is unique or innovative).

I can only speak for Defiance,

I thoight i was a Very very good with surprising Preformances from the Supporting Casr beside Daniel Craig.

I'd Give it 3.5/5 Which is high for me

I'd vote for slumdog over defiance, haven't seen the reader.

Maybe I'm missing something though but surely slumdog couldn't be called a feelgood movie, certainly not the feelgood movie of the decade or whatever the posters claimed. Its a fantastic movie but
the only feelgood part is at the end, the rest is of poverty, cruelty, a hard life etc

    Slumdog Millionaire
    The Reader

    ..in that order.

Can't stand Daniel Craig so not even thinking about going to Defiance.

The Reader is the underated film of the year imo.

Can't believe it only got 60% on RT.

Defiance is an excellent film, a must see. (and i dont like Daniel Craig either)

Went to see Defiance. Not bad though it had a slight repitious feel about it, hiding, fighting, walking, hiding, more fighting, etc.

My main problem was the accents. If Daniel Craig and Liev Shriver went to the effort to learn Russian when they spoke to the Russian army, why didnt they make the effort to learn Belrussian cos them speaking English in a Belrussian twang was very annoying.

I can see that the moneymen would have wanted them to speak English so as to maximise the box office but films like City of God,Gomorrah did very good business and they were in subtitles.

I dont know what is worse, actors "trying" to do Irish Accents or Easteren European ones.

The Reader is the only one of those three that I aw, but it was surprisingly good.

    It's worth a view.

Slumdog was alright, but not as good as people are making it out to be.

I was pleasantly surprised by Defiance, went into it not knowing anything about it, and thought it was a really good story and flick. Think Schindler's List in the forest.

'Slumdog Millonaire' - Even the most cynical person I know came out with a smile from this. Sure in many ways the ingredients seem slight, but it all comes together so well that the somewhat weak plot and perhaps unbelievable premise are secondary to the fact that it's an exhilarating experience in the hands of a very capable cast and crew.

'The Reader' on the other hand, failed to impress me on any level. Maybe I'm just inured to down-beat WWII-derived tales but nothing here particularly enticed me. I got a similar reaction from 'Atonement' last year, which also left me cold.
