I just got an email about this, thought it may be of interest to some people possibly. Just passing it on..........

The original Lucozade Sport Education Programme consisted of 4 workshops Fuel & Fluid for Sport, Get Fit for Sport, Planning for Success and the Female Athlete. Seven hundred and fifty three of these workshops have been delivered at no cost to Schools, Clubs, Local Sport Partnerships, NGB’s and others.

These modules are currently being updated and are aimed at Foundation and level 1 coaches, athletes and parents. The presentations at this level will remain generic in nature but if we are aware of the specific target group we will tailor them to ensure that examples and case studies are relevant.

Coaching Ireland in conjunction with Lucozade Sport have developed 4 new modules which are aimed at level 3 coaches. The topics of the two hour workshops include:

    The 24 Hour Athlete (lifestyle)
    Strength and Conditioning
    Fuel for Athletes
    Hydration for Athletes

These modules will be available from April 2009.

With this in mind we are currently in the process of recruiting new presenters for both the original and the new modules. All of our current presenters are Sports Science Graduates and many have additional qualifications, but they all have experience dealing with athletes, teams and coaches. If you are currently working as a presenter and are interested in delivering these modules or you work with a presenter that you think may be suitable, then please forward CVs to patrick.quigley@coachingireland.com.

Training for successful candidates with take place on February 21 and 22 at a Dublin location. (Venue to be confirmed). Accommodation and meals will be provided and a set travel allowance will be paid to each participant.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday January 30th 2009.

For further information please contact Coaching Ireland on 061 202895.
