'93 BMW 318is key

    hey, a friend lost the keys to his bmw, its a 93 318is and was brought in from england, he went to BMW to get one for it but it doesnt work and its the correct code for the car, it wont work in any lock. he's had a locksmith out and no help either. BMW reckon it might be cause it was an english spec. what do ye reckon is the best thing to do? we're considering breaking a window and taking out the ignition and try and get a key cut to suit it. any ideas appreciated. cheers
