ACCA - Ordering Books - 2 or 3 exams?

    Hi Everyone,

I have asked this a few times already, but am still unsure on what to do. I changed career 2 years ago to train to be an accountant. Got into a lovely small office and was top of my game. Due to a circumstances, some exams were put on hold. I was out on maternity leave for 6 months, but during this time I caught up on my exams and sat 3 in December last, happy with them, but results will tell.

Thing is, I am now back from maternity leave a couple and three new employees had started (office expanding), I feel that I have been left behind. Have been given all the jobs that I was given when I first started, I don't mind any of this, as it all counts as experience but just find that the new trainees are streets ahead, although I am ahead exam wise.

I had decided to take only 2 exams this term, but other trainees are taking 3 and am afraid that I am slipping behind. Ordering my books today and thinking should I go for the 3 exams again. That would leave me that if I am successful, I would be sitting my finals in December.

    Sorry for the rant

I think you should maybe go for 2 because I think the fact that you're on here asking suggests that you're not quite confident in taking 3. So don't do it just to be on par with the others. Besides, you're already ahead of them exam-wise, so just smile sweetly when they fail one or more or theirs. :D You could also have a word with your boss as well and ask for work a bit more challenging since you've covered the stuff you're currently doing already.

And good luck for your results from December!
