Greenspan have a solar energy ad running on newstalk in the morning, in which a nefarious Blofeld-esque villain shuts off much of the gas supply to Europe in order to raise demand and gas prices. (Subtle aint they?) At the end of this polemic we discover the dastardly villain is called "Doctor Doom." I guess no-one at the advertising agency reads comics or perhaps the good doctor has decided that acquiring the infinity gems is just a little too much like hard work. Copyright infringement ahoy!

They should probably go after those Captain America restaurants first.

Or anything that infinges on their copyright of the word "superhero".

Isn't it a joint trademark held between DC and Marvel? (Not that this would make it any less retarded a state of affairs, but anyway...)

Addendum: Yes it is. Can't help but wonder whether they're planning to expand it - after all, both companies have their products featured in videogames and movies these days, but their trademark doesn't cover those...of course, they'd probably also face a lot more opposition if they tried to enforce it in those arenas, not least because of the many films that have been made by studios independent of both publishers and parent companies in the past.
