    Because its quite good news, it probably won't make much headline in the papers.

    Intel announced up to 6,000 job cuts yesterday & the closure of 5 facilities. None of the job cuts or closures will be in Ireland. - They are in USA , Malaysia & Phillipines.

    For those currently out of work, I firmly believe the corner will be turned later this year and real job creation will commence again at the end of the year.

    Thats interesting news, I haven't heard that news yet. The rumour of a 3-4 month shut-down of the Intel plant was very strong and plausable (due to no product running through the plant).

    Edit: Just saw the news on EETimes.
