Coaxial Cable

    Hi guys,

Soon enough(Next week i think), i'll be installing a HD fta/dtt combo into a new room in my house. It'll be connected to a 40" 1080p screen so i think i'd like to maximise quality in the coaxial cable. Just one problem. There is already a connection to the room from the attic of coaxial cable(From an old attic aerial i think). This coaxial cable has been there for about 10 years and i aint able to tell how good quality it is.(Anyone know how to check??). Anyway, from the attic, i need to connect this piece of cable to the dish(Will connect the two bits of cable with one of these). The length of this old coaxial cable is about 5 metres by my reckoning(To where it enters the new room that is). I'm planning to get some good cable to connect from the dish to where the old cable ends. Will get this in B&Q tomorrow(Is this a good place to get this??). My question really is whether i will see a noticeable drop in final picture quality because of this piece of old coaxial cable??(Assuming its very basic stuff, which i assume it is)

    Thanks guys:)

And another thing, considerin its only about 10 metres between the dish and where the old cable starts, would it be worth my while getting pf100 cable or will rg6 do the job. That reminds me of another option. I could just(With a bit of hassle) run some new cable(Be it pf100 or whatever) from the dish all the way to the Av setup. A good bit more hassle involve but would it be worth it??

    Yes !

( I'm sure you could get it at an electrical wholesalers cheaper than b&Q though)

Perhaps it will be cheaper but I've yet to meet an electrical wholesaler who knows the first thing about good quality coaxial.
