Hi, i'm looking to record a demo, just looking for suggestions, the band would rather play live than individualy, I don't know if all studios work this way, i've done one before and it was all seperately put together, rather do it live, and somewhere that might have somewhere to have a break in, any suggestions?

Depends on the type of music, metal for instance, you will want a dry sound so you can seperate each note and beat easily, so track recordings might work best there, but rock or blues I would much rather record live and overdub vocals/lead guitar/percussion afterwards, hang mics on the walls around the studio to add "space" to the sound and insist that the drummer be allowed record in the live room too if you're going for the live sound, which studio are you going to?

Thanks for the feedback, haven't settled on one yet, I think the last place I used was elektra in temple bar, but was with a trainee engineer and I wasn't impressed with the recording, just shopping around online.

Hiya, we recorded in a place called Ashtown Studios a few months back and they mainly concentrate on live recordings. Its a decent price also but cant remember the exact amount however i see they are doing 8 hours for 250 bills in Feb if there are days left. Staff are really sound and top quality also. Lovely village also if that means anything to ya :D
