    Hi

I want to connect my laptop to my LCD TV. My laptop has no HDMI output. I' m thinking of purchasing one of these HDMI to VGA connections.

Is there any benefit from this instead of VGA to VGA like better picture quality?

The picture in the link above, theres no rca connectors on my laptop so obviously these go to the tv with the hdmi?

    Thanks for advice
    ;)

You can't connect an analogue audio/video source to a HDMI input on your TV, it just won't work because the HDMI input will be expecting digital Audio/Video signal along with various "handshake" signals which the two devices ( source and your TV) pass between them.

What TV do you have ? Most LCD TVs have a VGA input and the simplest solution is to use this and to connect the sound (headphone output) from the laptop to the audio-in sockets on the TV.

I haven't come across the cable you linked to and would have thought that a converter would be needed for getting analogue AV signals from a HDMI source.

    Ritz.
