Tried opening an email and message read "unknown file format, Find?" Ultimately Pareto Driver Cure downloaded, but still couldn't open the file. Is this a legitimate program? Is it safe to use? Is it any good?

Do you know the extension of the file?

    Eg. filename.doc/.gif/.pdf etc.

The file extension was ".dat" which I think is Excel, but I don't have Excel. My concern is in relation to the software which downloaded called Pareto Driver Cure. It claims to update old or damaged drivers and identified 24 such files on my system.

I've never heard of the software before, uninstall it if you didn't intend installing it in the first place.

Who did the email come from? I'd never open attachments from unknown senders and would never install software sent from senders even if I knew who it was from.
