Interest rate for variable mortgage.

I've got my morgage switched from a fixed rate to a variable rate without having to pay any penalties, which was great, however, i checked my account online and the interest rate has gone up instead of going down on my morgage since being switched.

I rang the bank and they say that is what the rate it is for january and I will recieve the decrease in feb.

Now I know that the rate has dropped a alot over the last few months so I feel like the bank is trying to screw me by putting me on an older, higher rate.

Anyone else here with PTSB ?
And if so what is your variable rate for january ?

At them moment they're telling me it's 5.4%, but I think it's less.
