Just for a bit of a laugh, I'm wondering which wannabe has the worst electoral history in Ireland? Every town has its local Paddy who runs for election every few years convinced he can change the nation, but who's the worst offender?

Just having a quick look through the records, can anyone think of a worse record than Liam O Gogain's? Six elections, six times granted no expenses. Ouch.

In fairness to him, he was only running to raise an issue, he wasn't trying to win.

Who was the guy who ran in two constituencies in the last election?

There are thousands of people who run as Independents all over the country, and omnly get a handful of votes. SWP, Socialist Party, PBP, Immigration Control, Father's Rights, RSF, CSP etc all run candidates who get pitiful amounts of votes

Owner of Dartmouth Square, Noel O Gara, ran in four constituencies in 2007 and hardly garnered 100 votes between.

However, of candidates from a respectible platform, Jerry Hannon of the PDs hardly managed 150 votes in Dublin Central in 2007. Granted he was a paper candidate, however, it was remeniscent of the SDP in Britain beingbeing beaten by the Monster Raving Looney Party. He was outflanked by the ICP and Christian Solidarity.

When you think about it, everything bad happened to the PDs in 2007 !

Royston Brady,Irelands answer to Mayor Quimby/Fred Flintstone/Homer Simpson,a complete diaster who shot himself in the foot everytime he opened his mouth, and his brother Cyprian gets in with 900 votes but Berties surplus gets him about 6000 voted, talk about a fluke

To be fair I don't think either a former Lord Mayor or a sitting TD can be considered Ireland's biggest electoral failures :pac:

Theres a certain green party gimp in waterford who's failed miserably at local and national elections yet still thinks he has a mandate to try and block any development in the city.
