Louth Council bans dogs

    In todays star:
Dangerous canines are to be banned from council housing estates in Co. Louth.

Officials said owners of "trophy dogs" such as alsations, rottweilers, bull terriers and pit bulls were often associated with "anti-social behaviour"

The council said housing estates were "inappropiate" places to house such animals.

It got a tiny space on page 20. Ridiculous that another council is doing this.

I'm also annoyed (but not suprised) at the stars choice of words - Dangerous Canines -

Is that the full list of the dogs they're banning?

Has this been enforced effectively elsewhere to date?

There is an article in this weeks Argus about this, I think it is more aimed at irrespnsible owners than the breed of dog. The usual breeds are named, but the article like the people behind such rules and regulations dont have much of a clue. It is only aimed at new tennants to sink estates.
