I have a mac laptop and was wondering what is the best external hard drive to get. I just need backing up of my photos and tunes. Also hoping to back up the whole system as I recently had to get a new drive due to failure.

Also what is the best printer to get with the mac - preferably wireless?
    Thanks

I have two Western Digital 500GB externals, one for Time Machine connected via firewire to MacBook and the other is connected to Airport Extreme Base Station for all media (iTunes, Movies, etc.).

One is a MyBook Premium Edition and the other is MyBook Essential Edition.

    No problems with either really.

You may be able to hook up your existing printer to an Airport Express, but the Express only supports certain printers. There's ways around it but I can't get either of my two printers to work with it.

I'd recommend the Western Digital MyBook and Passport drives as well - I've had about 7 of them so far and all of them are still working perfectly (though I've given some to other family members...).

Like AlanD mentioned, you might want to consider an Airport Extreme base station - you can connect both hard drives and printers to it and it's a solid router too.
