Lost time-line + movie

I'm just wondering about the lost time-line. As far as I remember, this is the penultimate seasons, so that means they're due to finish up in 2011. But did I hear somewhere that a movie has been confirmed for 2011? So I'm presuming this means that the very last season will more than likely end on a cliff-hanger so as to get people psyched for the movie?

I don't know if you're terrible at maths or if you just don't realise that 2009 doesn't jump straight to 2011.
The show will end in 2010.
Haven't heard anything about a movie - but I'd say it's doubtful. It's not the type of show where it could have a spin-off movie. I reckon a movie would just piss the fans off tbh.

    Agreed.

The writers have said no to there being a movie several times. They intend to resolve everything in season 6. But they don't own the show, so if there ever is a film they won't be involved and it will be tangential to the current story-line.

I doubt there's any desire at ABC/Disney for a movie anyway. The show is too complex. I suspect the writers will put the nail in the coffin in the series finale.

On the subject of the show's endgame, I really really hope the writers don't leave all the answers/conclusions to the last episode. I'm loving how Ron Moore is handling the final season of BSG.

Ditto. A final season of answers would be great, or at lease have the answers spread out along the way. There are so many questions in Lost, that it would require two or three seasons to hammer everything out, but hopefully all the main stuff gets given a good answer, but not in the last 5 minutes of the finale.

A film would blow too, that would be a seriously bad move. Not only would there be too much to stick in one film, which would effectively be no more than a double episode anyway, but making us wait even longer would piss me off more than I already am.
