    Hi all,

Been reading allot on this forum and other sources over the last few months and have setup an online-trading account recently. I have a small sum of money I have set aside that I'm willing to play with and can survive if I never see it again (not the aim of the exercise though ;) ).

I'm looking for suggestions for long-term investments (4-7y) and/or articles/sites that I can read up on investments with growth potential and dividend return. I'm far from averse from risk but I'm green and trying to find as much solid information as I can.

    Cheers

Hi - you seem to have the right idea.

    2 Questions.

    1) What is a small amount (€500 / €2,000 / €5,000) etc

    2) Where / With who did you set up your online traading account ?

    Hi pocketdooz,

    1) €8k

    2) Davy's

I understand from research that Davy's aren't the cheapest but I feel more secure with them than I would with the other options that were suggested after comparing online setups.

I started with 12k and have put a little over a 1/4 of that into the two banks at high risk but I am willing to take the risk and see what I feel is a probably return in the medium/long term.

I'm now looking to educate myself and move toward less high profile stocks and/or foreign equities that I can actively trade rather than the Banks shares which I believe I will sit on.
