Claim for Rent Relief

    Can anyone who is living in private rented accommodation claim this or is simply a tax refund?

    My wages as a trainee accountant are below the tax band so i'm not being taxed. Does this mean i can't claim this?

    You can only claim relief if you pay tax. If you don't pay tax there's no relief. Hurry up and pass some exams and then you can claim it.;)

    can i claim relief is my landlord is house owner and has me under the rent a room scheme?

    What address would i send the Rent 1 forms to? Is it the local tax office?

    Yes, your fully entitled to the rent credit.

    Yep, your local tax office, but to be honest, theres not much point if your not paying any tax as the credit is non refundable.
