Hi I have been looking to buy a performance car for a while, which had to be insurance friendly enough. I had it narrowed it to a Levin, Interga and Lancer.I decided to go for the lancer and have a deal made with a guy on adverts on one which seems to fit the bill, as it has the power, easy enough to insure and is practical, im going to look at it at weekend.

So what do you guys think of them?

Do they need alot of tlc or are they reliable enough?

I have looked around forums for a while now and everyone has good things to say about them and the one on adverts look very clean and well looked after.

    So what do yee think?

in theory a 4wd 1.8 turbo car sounds like a great combo, but i've been told these cars can be very soft, very hard to tune and dead to drive after third gear. If it was a type r integra you were considering, you'd be stupid not to go for that, but if its only an sir then i would consider a bzr levin. lancer gsr will drink petrol, be kinda slow and very heavy on insurance, integra type r will be fast, good on petrol, handle better than pretty much any car the same price, and the bzr will be moderately quick, but cheap on insurance and petrol. Levin bzr's also have one of the best developed factory fitted suspension systems, but are only really good on very flat ground making them kinda useless on our roads:rolleyes:

My personal opinion....dont buy a gsr, wait til you can afford a proper evo, get an integra type r for the time being, and thats coming from a lad thats very much opposed to buying a honda aswel, the only honda i would ever buy is an integra type r

    cheers lads;)

and @OP, try get a type r in a colour other than white, i know its the 'type r' colour and all, but they're far too common, spend a little more and get a black or red one, or if you can find/afford one, a yellow one. Also, JDM (japanese) ones are quoted to be slightly more powerful with a higher rev limit, but IMO UKDM (european) ones are much nicer looking, generally more affordable and cheaper to insure, made to run on our 95ron petrol (as opposed to japanese 100ron), and have much more security features as standard. Check out the integra draffodx is selling on here, thats a fabulous car and in a rare colour too.

i was gonna say that to the OP aswel, he'll probably grow to love a teg r and never want to change for an evo aswel anyway haha. like i said before, i'm very much honda, and even jap car opposed (even though i've owned 3 toyotas), but i still aspire to own a type r honda, with dc2 ranking very high on the list. i'll always be a euro driver at heart tho;)

Haven't got to drive an evo yet, but the Teg just puts a smile on my face everytime I go the back roads to and from college :D

If I manage to get through my last semester at college while running the teg I might as well keep it and get another car to compliment it
