Perhaps I'm just babbling again. :o

A thousand times I've strolled home, to the calm of an ebbing tide
With silhouettes of your sadness circling, whooshing and blowing through my mind
I miss the sweet taste of your childish bite, oh won't you come home before I lose all tonight…..

These memories pollute my thought-dreams and selfish desires, I know
We ran through that waste-land, you smiled and you stepped ahead when I dared you to go
And now that this respite has finally broken through, I've sat down to discover that I'm already broke

When you left for the lights in brand-new sparkling cities, I tried to make the darkness my own
When you kissed my bare cheek, and said "don't ever forget," I had nowhere else left to roam
The music is useless, the books further still, all I wish is for your hand to once more lead me home

I realise this corruption of power has fallen beyond repair, but I'm too tired to put up a fight
I consider this to be the last words of mine that will never pass through your sight
But before you ride a dream into some other place, please realise what burns from inside

This absolution was never something to smile at, but now it's all I really feel
When you fell to the floor, as the fists rained down, did you know that it wasn't real?
I can't begin to pretend you knew me, but my heart was there, and I'm glad you chose to steal.
