    Dear all,

I want to take off to Paris for a day.

I want to see the Père Lachaise Cemetery mainly and need to get there from Beauvis airport (flying Ryanair cos it's cheapest.)

I also want to know will I have much time to get to see the other sites such as Eiffel Tower before I head back?

Can anyone offer any advice or tell me how to get from Beauvais to the cemetery?

    Cheers

yep was there years ago....lots of teenagers smoking joints around jims grave. i took the underground. its very easy to get around, like london tube.
first you'll have to get a bus into the center from that airport, i think it takes about 1h 10mins and then hop on the underground.
the cemetery is not in a very touristy area though , its in a residential suburb. its not very near any of the other big attractions so you'll be doing alot of travelling to get to it.
you might as well see the mona lisa and the eiffel tower while your there.
sorry i cant be much help with directions but it was so long ago i cant really remember. fair play to you to go for the day.. why not.

Just search for 'beauvais' in the forum for all the help you need.

Bus leaves Beauvais 20 minutes after flight lands. 1.5 hours to Paris.

Take line 3 to Gambetta and enter cemetery from there. That way it's downhill all the way rather than entering from the main entrance and walking uphill (I live 4 minutes from it) :)

    www.mappy.fr for paris map.

www.ratp.fr for Metro directions (get off Beauvais bus, take line 1 towards Vincennes to Louvre-Rivoli, Then line 7 to Opera then line 3 to Gambetta). 45 minutes and €1.10 one-way.

Thanks so as soon as I find Gambetta on the metro then I'm sorted ;)

Can you tell me where Wilde & Morrisson's grave are in relation to the cemetery are they at the opposite end ???

Where does the bus leave me off in the city?

Bus leaves you off at Porte Malliot. Do a google image search for PAris metro map and you'll see (it's on line 1, yellow line).

Wilde is about 15 minutes from Morrisson. Wilde is easy to find 'cos it's huge and full of lipstick kisses. Morrison's is small and pokey and only findable due to the security guard who'll be there :)

Gambetta enterence is "rue des Rondeaux". You want graves 28 and 18

Either print off this map or take a digital camera and take a photo of the map of the park at any of the entrances.
