A lot of info in these 2 threads about peoples experiences over there/applying/visas etc:

Are you planning on emigrating for good or just for a year?

    for a one-year visa:

If you're looking to go for good it's another process entirely - also referenced in these threads. There's others that can give better info than myself.
From what I've gathered so far, Vancouver/British Columbia are better for contruction jobs etc - the usit sites has a few links to recruitment sites to get a rough idea. Maybe google some construction/recruitment places in both areas and see what comes up!

far as i know there is going to be alot of building going on in B.C so no problems getting jobs there, cant say the same for toronto but the best site to check is www.monster.ca and that will give you a feel of where they need your skills and how much you will get paid!good luck!
