You need to move the dish. Astra 2/Eurobird is at 28E while Astra 1 is at 19E.

Can you receive Astra 1a/b/d whatever and Astra 2......

on one dish without moving it..?!

If I need to move the dish to get Astra 1 and I am on Astra 2 is it very difficult without screwing up and getting nothing, I could use my gps??!

    Sorry for the Nob questions.

Only if you have 2 LNBs aligned 9 degrees apart and connected to a Diseqc switch.

GPS is useless. A cheap satellite meter makes it much easier.

I see, that clears it up.

Im not exactly sure how them diSq things work but it would be nice to have that multiple lnb setup. Is it an easy DIY job?

    Thanks watty

If I was to adjust my current setting to get Astra 1 what way would I move the dish, or would I just mess everything up?

From Astra 2 to Astra 1 I mean.....

I would lower the dish around 3 degrees and move it slowly west until I get activity on the receiver?

To get astra 1 (19e) you must move the dish to the right (west) if your standing behind it. There will be no great adjustment to elevation and your only moving it a small bit. Only do this if the dish is easily got at as it can become tricky when you get frustrated. You'll hit 19e no problem as it's the one most people find when they are looking for sky (28e or astra2).

DSF is a good channel but don't know is it worth moving the dish manually everytime to watch it.

You would really need a Meter. Moving a dish that is meant to be fixed is really an install time alignment. You are better either getting a Motor or a 2nd LNB and adaptor bar.

You need at least 80cm dish for either and a non-Sky satellite receiver. A SkyDigibox delibrately has no software to control the extra LNB switch you would mount behind dish (DISEQC, takes up to 4 LNBs) or a Motor.

Even with a single LNB and fixed dish a Sky Digibox is very unsuitable for other than UK TV, though not impossible.

What make / size of dish do you have? Depending on the type, a bracket allowing you to have a second LNB offset from the dish and a DISEQC switch would be quite cheap. Then your box does all the switching so you don't have any messing about to do outside, apart from a one off installation of the bracket and second LNB of course.

Get a cheap meter and use it . You could switch over if anything like the Match on Sunday on it again and switch back easy

    I have a 80cm dish and the comag sl55

    paddy, your option sounds handy

can you fill me in exactly on what i need to attach another lnb, how i position its offset etc, I assume I dont have to move my dish at all?

How can i go about getting these lnb's and lnb extension arm?

    Thanks.

You need a multi-LNB bracket, a Diseqc switch and a few f-connectors. You don't need to move the dish. More info:

There is a list of suppliers in a sticky on the satellite forum. Otherwise try ebay.
