Just want to get an opinion on this. We are organising a surprise 50th Birthday party. People arrive around 8.30, surprise around 9, the band starts at 10. Should there be music before the band?
I reckon there should because people will be there for well over an hour before the band starts, but the other organisers say there should not.

its a good idea to simply play a cd early on in the night. start it off low and turn it up gradually to a good volume. Peoples ears need to warm up and if the band starts without any music beforehand people will find it "too loud"
