Can I buy shares in the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) through sharewatch? Is there a stock on this market that is just the average of the market?(ie. invest in this stock if you think the Indian Stock Exchange will grow as a whole?)Anyone know the name of this stock?

I would buy into mutual funds that invest soly in india as many of the good ones are now trading at a discount to their actual net value

your best bet would be to buy an ETF that tracks India, ishares and lyxor both do them listed on european exchanges - think there's a few threads on here about how to buy them

im fairly sure foreigners are not allowed to buy Indian shares directly.

google, rediff business, its the main business website in India, includes stock information and discussion etc

From India? The word foreigner isn't really used in Europe, not very PC.

I'd avoid India for the moment. Cough*Accounting malpractices/corruption*Cough could start to dessimate confidence in their economy.

No not from India, I don't really see what is not very PC about the word foreigner tbh.

And if i was i would probably find your first sentence quite patronizing.
