    social,

Social scene in carlow is pretty good, the town has a reputation as a student town and loads of the bars and nightclubs offer student nights and rates. Haven't been out this year much but i imagine it's the same?
    educational,

This depends on what your doing i'm afraid.
    finantial,

Well it's alot cheaper than dublin in general around here and the grants are relatively simliar so i say we score high here.

    transport,

This is the one thing i don't like about carlow. unless you're going to Dublin or Waterford, you'll have to go through one or the other to get where you're going usually. Which is a pain in the hole when you live in wexford.
    accomidation

Accommodation lists are on the IT homepage and while there is no campus, there are a large amount of houses dedicated to student use. Accommodation shouldn't be a problem

Nice course. I'm in my final year of Industrial Biology though. I studied Computer Science in DIT before coming to Carlow and I can assure you that Carlow is better!

    computer games development

It has a reputation for being a challenging course compared to some of the other programming courses in ITC I'm told. Good luck with your Leaving Cert.

Computer Games is hard and very fun but if you are good at maths(Honors) you have no problem. It makes the order programming course in the college looks like a kids meal.

On the otherside the other courses start with a different language.

computer games is tough but a very good course. one or two of the lectures are a bit rubbish but if u go to lectures and do the projects early you should be fine. I'm i second year at the mo, tough to get my head around it but i am enjoying it. I did honours maths so i dont really think the maths is as hard as everyone says but to each his own i suppose. The course is pretty programming itensive, wont really go into much detail with level design, animations, etc until 3rd or 4th year and even then it isnt that much anyways, but the programming is tough. There is a huge dropout rate with this cours, 44 in 1st year, only about 19 in second year and about 5 of those are hardly ever in.
    You have been warned....

    Sorry Fot Hijacking your Thread@

Ok I might leave college after 1st years because this whole 1500 fee as I know Carlow IT will make everyone pay well if you don't get grant. Anyways If I leave completingthe first year can I go straight to 2nd year after a year off? or will they make you do 1st year again?

I am fairly sure you can take a year off and rejoin 2nd year. You might have to book an appointment with the head of department to explain why you have to take a year out but I'd say he wouldnt really mind, as long as you did well enough in first year you should be fine.
This is just what I think but I'd say if you are seriously thinking about doing that you talk to one of the lecturers about it cause they would know a lot more about than myself.
