    Hi, probably not the right forum but i'm sure people in here will know the answer.

    I have been given a quote for importing a product from asia. The manufacturer has quoted a price of £10 FOB.

    Does this simply mean that I pay for the costs from getting it from Dublin port to my warehouse or what are the costs that I will have to bare?

    Cheers

    My understanding is that FOB stands for Free On Board, which means that the seller will pay all shipping charges to a designated point. FOB should be followed by a location i.e FOB Dublin

    Thats exactly what i thought. But i got an email off the seller today saying that the price he quoted did not include the cost of courier.

    Cheers for the reply. Will try get it sorted out.

    FOB = Freight on Board

    This means the seller will deliver your goods to the designated port in China/Asia, it's up to you to get them here.

    So I would have to get them from a port in Asia to Dublin? Any idea how I would go about this?

    I've used Uniserve (Ireland) before and they were great.

    Contact Ray O'Connor at ro@ugroup.co.uk

    Also, there's Campion Freight. Their website seems to be in the process of being redone right now, but you can contact Lisa at: lisa@campionfreight.ie

    No harm getting a few quotes.

    Hope that's of some help.

    If its a container of stuff you are getting, MSC (mediterranian shipping co) in Sandyford are good. I've used them with good results.
