If you are an NARGC affiliated club you should be able to get birds through you county board at a discount price. Age varies between counties

What part of the country are you in?

we are affiliated to NARGC, based in North Westmeath. Must give the county sec. a call.

Not sure on your county setup but here in Galway we are offered Mallard and Pheasants.
Pheasants only cost €2.50 a bird (10 Weeks old)

Have some good info on setting up a good cheap rearing pen if you want drop me a PM i'll send you on some helpfull stuff.

+1 on Wogan - we get our birds from him too and they are great flyers - none of this running along in front of the dog lark!

I would definitely recommend Martin Moloney in Tipperary for mallard duck and pheasant poults. His birds are really good. We got a great return from his birds last year and the boys in the club were really happy. We had no problem holding them in the snow. The birds get up well over the dogs and are great fliers. His number is 0526135322. his email is mallardmoloney@eircom.net.

PS. we get the full fry up when we go, makes the journey more than worth it. :D
