Quick question

I am currently working up to 16hrs per week and i have committed to this job until march at least. As this is afternoon work i have 4 or 5 hrs every morning to fill but not many jobs out there. Someone told me i could maybe claim benefit, is this true? and if so how would i go about it? Thanks!
