    Hi all
I am using a Pace Sky Digibox and for the last few days it has started going into standby mode for no obvious reason :( This happens every few hours or so. About 3 minutes before it goes on standby a notice pops up saying that its about to go into standby mode. Turning it back on again is no problem and everything seems to work well again.

I have tried resetting the digibox by turning it off and restarting a few minutes later (as recommended by Sky) but no change :(
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

On a slightly different note when did all the new BBC news and ITV channels become availible on the standard menu? Just got them yesterday when Sky "reset" the box while working on the previous problem!!

Its part of their latest software "update" box goes into standby if left unused.

Pretty damn stupid - whatever about the benefits of an enery-saving feature, their timeout is dire! I've had it pop up in the middle of films, soccer matches and rugby matches....

Surely there should be a way to (a) set the timeout and (b) not go into standby if you've set something via the reminders ?

I mean, what happens if you're out and / or recording via a video / DVD / separate PVR using "autoview" ?

Thanks for that link Coley ....**but FFS it would be nice if SKY informed people that this was going to happen!! Like other people have mentioned What if your recording 2 movies at a time? or one lasting more than 2 hours at night?
Does anyone know how this "feature" can be turned off?

Just searched and found this on the sky.com site

"You may see a message pop up on your screen - if there is no activity on your Sky+/Sky HD box for two hours (between 11pm and 4am), an on-screen message will be shown saying that your box is about to go into standby. If you're watching TV press back up to continue viewing

Don't worry about any recordings you've set whilst in standby your box can record up to two programmes at the same time

When you turn your box back on, after its been in Auto Standby, it will be tuned to the last channel you watched

And if you regularly watch TV in the early hours of the morning it is possible to permanently switch off Auto Standby by using an option in the Settings menu of the Sky Guide. Go to Services, 5 - Sky+ Setup, Auto-Standby: set to off "

Just did it and It seems to work :)

**Comment not directed at you Coley.
