    Hi Lads,
Myself and the misses are bucking the trend and headin over to paris on the weekend Ireland play France in Dublin. I'm looking for ideas as to where to watch the match. Looking for a good rugbypub, city centre'ish where we aren't the only Irish there, and don't have to pay hundreds for a couple of pints.
    Thanks in advance

Kitty O'Sheas is probably the regular hangout for the Irish in Paris. Its reasonably central. Drinks are expensive enough but in fairness you arent going to get a cheap pint in Paris. I was there last year and it was teeming with rugby fans.

Personally I love The Auld Alliance in the Marais. Scottish pub I know, but great on rugby international days.

Why not just go to the game?! I went 2 years ago, great atmosphere / stadium and simple to get to.

Place de Clichy isn't a bad spot though it can get a little ugly after midnight. Out towards Montmartre. O'Sullivans is right beside the Moulin Rouge on the left hand side of the windmill and Corcorans is not too far away from it either. They usually get geared up for the big matches

If you get to Kitty's, as advised earlier, make sure to take a short trip around to Harry's Bar. Ask for Max the barman. Max makes the most potent mojito known to man or beast . . . a real John of Gods special !

Paris is a great town, enjoy the trip mr and mrsincredible, bon courage.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Looks like it'll be a toss up between O'Sullivans and Kitty's then. Really looking forward to Paris - but dread the drink prices :s Thanks again.

We were in Paris in April and went to a small bar near the hotel. Using hand signals I asked for a large and a small beer. They dropped us down a 1 litre and a half-litre of draught beer.

    €24.00

    €16.00 + €8.00, I assume.

Suffice is to say we didn't stay for a 'same again ?'.

Dont drink beer in Paris, drink wine...much cheaper, and more bang for your buck. Even the bargain basement house wines in most places are a damn sight better than the over priced sh1te we get here...a nice half liter in each place...lovely

First time I was in Paris we went to a little cafe place to get some lunch on the way to our hotel, cluelessly ordered water which ended up being more expensive than my food was. Didn't make that mistake again.

O'Sullivans is good craic. Was there for a good few games during the 2 weeks I was there for the world cup. Good beer and good food too. think it was either €6 or €8 for a pint of the black stuff. try kronenberg blanc 1664, tis lovely stuff.
