I'm going to head to Dubai in December for the first time and was wondering if anyone could help with choosing a hotel.
Its for two of us and we've been looking at the Burj Al Arab or Jumeirah beach hotel. I was surprised to see both of these Hotels are affordable (for the room anyway). Has anyone any experience of these? From reviews on Tripadvisor it seems the Burj Al Arab is ridiculously expensive to eat and drink in.

Feel free to recommend alternatives too.

I've been to both but didn't notice the prices as it was all on expenses.

The two hotels are right beside each other and part of the same 'chain'.
You can easily stay in the Burj and get the golf buggy to drop you down
to the Jumeirah Beach to eat or drink. The beach at the Jumeirah Beach is
where we chilled out wven when staying in the Burj.

Plenty of dining options to choose from between the two hotels.

I'm not too surprised to see prices on these two hotels falling, there are
plenty of newer rooms in new hotels available now.

We stayed in Jumereah beech. I stayed twice on business once on vacation. Top notch. The Burj Al ARab, if within ur budget, you should try it. Its expenisve to eat in there, and both are basically part of same resort, there is also another hotel opened up since...basically like something out of alladin. then there is wild waddi water park on the grounds...Service is 7 star!

I stayed in the One and only Royal Mirage. It was fantastic, if a little quiet. As we were going there on honeymoon, we were looking for somewhere relaxing and not over run with kids. We were treated like royalty and Id very much recommend it.We did visit the Burj Al Arab, but given a can of Guinness cost €18, that'll give you an idea of the prices involved.
