UT3 Installation.

Hi ,
Just started playing around with unreal tournament three and noticed a major improvement in frame rate ,when the game is installed.
Is the install feature available on any other games or could a patch be added to a game that hasn't got one ?

Install is optional on some games (Ridge racer 7), and mandatory on a lot more. Biggest offenders are Gran turismo 5 Prologue, with a whopping 7 GB MANDATORY install, with Downloaded updates.
Close behind Is Metal gear solid 4, with 6 MB of mandatory install.
Ridge 7 is 5GB btw

Prologe is one i downloaded from the store so i couldn't compare frame rates.
It was suprising on ut3 how much faster and more enjoyable the game is when installed.:)

UT3 now has trophies as of march 6

The update/trophies/11 new maps have been announced. Methinks they aren't out yet.

hmm might have to start playing this again, wasnt aware of the install feature, the new update sounds interesting
Edit: the trophys are available now, and theyve added spitlscreen and some other stuff but the titan pack has been delayed till 19th

Ya but official content should be really high quality.
apparently the titan pack contains

• Two new gametypes: Greed and Betrayal
• One new mutator: Titans
• 16 new maps: 6 Deathmatch, 4 Warfare, 3 CTF, 3 VCTF
• Two new weapons: Stinger Turret and The Eradicator Cannon
• Two new deployables: The X-Ray Field and the Link Station
• One new powerup: The Portable Slow Field
• Two new characters: Kana of the Ronin and Nova of Liandri
• One new vehicle: The Axon Stealthbender

Just loaded up the game there and had a look at the menus ,theres a community option in the main menu.
Then theres a sublink ,mod browser. Theres downloads of maps and gametypes there.

Not sure if it was there before ,looks interesting though.
