sorry this may be a common sense question i have a seat leon 1.9 sdi and i feel the breaks just arent up to much the rear disks and pads were replaced some months back along with front pads but left original disks on, i think there 256mm standard front, if i was to upgrade allowing for room inside alloys 17inch to say 280 or 288mm would i need new calipers or are the original ok?

TBH, unless you're really hammering the car you shouldn't need to upgrade the brakes on an SDI. Are you sure they're working as they should?

yeah i think the front disks are coming to the end of life was thinking of just upgrading them but maybe a new standard replacement set could solve it disks are original as far as i believe its 01 car

I would get an all round check of your calipers to check for any that might be siezed. Also get the brakes bled including new fluid, not forgeting the master cylinder
