Hi, Im just wondering about Film and TV Production in IADT.
It says on the website that:

Are there any costs for materials and/or field trips?

Approx. €1500 (year one), €1000 (year two), €1000 (year three),
    €2000 (year four).

Would this be covered under the free fees scheme, or if I were to recieve a grant would I need to pay it out of my grant money?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Jammyc,

The grant does cover 'field trips':
“field trip” means a trip which is compulsory and an integral part of an approved course, which is for fact finding or research purposes, and without which the student cannot graduate or progress to the next year of the course.
    5.5 Field Trips

5.5.1 Compulsory field trips may be funded for eligible grant-holders provided the tuition fee, student services charge and the cost of the field trip does not exceed the maximum fee limit.

    From: http://www.education.ie/servlet/blobservlet/support_higher08.doc?language=EN

As always, the grant scheme is subject to change (and since they plan to change it, who knows what's going to happen).

Materials-wise I haven't heard of anything to cover it.

    Hope this helped though!
