Hardly a helpful reply? The main reason for this forum is information and for people to ask questions just like this.

To the best of my knowledge there is a Px4 springer available but no skirmishable piece. There is a .177 version of it that requires a licence (and I think falls under the new pistols ban anyway) and it's cropped up on a few airsoft sites in Asia so be careful if you think you might have found one.
I heard rumblings of Maruzen possibly doing one if these in the future, but that'll be a long way off. Shame too, it's a nice piece.

There's a GBB beretta cougar c60 made by ASG available which looks a lot like the one you want. I think one was sold in the adverts section a few days back.

Here's a pic of what the c60 looks like

The Maruzen P99 is a pretty modern looking piece and it feels absolutely brilliant, easily the most comfortable pistol I've ever used. It's a dead ringer for the real thing too in looks and feel.

Sold :D.. oi think thats next weeks toy ....:)- looks awsome have you got one can? you get the adjustments for the rear of the handel as ive got hand like small shovels

    1911 after that :D

Yeah the back straps are replaceable with bigger or smaller sized ones to suit, they're available seperately.
The P99 is a popular piece in Maruzens line up so it's quite often out if stock worldwide, like it is now, I have four friends waiting fir them to become available again since November. Don't be tempted by the KWC model, it's atrocious and has a tendency to (violently) self destruct. The P99 Compact is still available, but it may well be too small for you.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,048 ✭✭✭✭Snowie

Sweet so there's two sise's ? of the gun a compact and a larger ?
thanks gfor the heads up on the kwc one.. Where are your friends ordering there's from?
I guess i may be waiting can allwasy get a 1911 mod it the way i want it till the p99 comes back into stock..

Well they're waiting for me to spot them, since they just want them as collectables. They've been out of stock everywhere for about 5 months now though, I reckon they're due back on the market soon. Maruzen have a habit of just stopping production of a line for a few months.

    Re: The kwc

We really ought to come up with a list of airsoft guns that explode or dramatically fail/disintegrate etc.

For the sake of our collective sanities.

I have a few in mind personally :D

ah ok ... well that kind amake snece :), that way when they come out they all sell.. bad for people who want them but they look worth it...... Arghh do i wait or do i buy 1911 ?

The 1911 is the opposite of the big, chunky, modern looking pistol I think you're going for. You might be better served with a double-stacker like a USP .45 or a Sig P226. The 1911 is a good, solid performer (personally I hate the look of them, too plain and samey) but it's single stack configuration leaves a narrow enough grip surface. I know you mentioned getting the back straps for the P99 to accomodate a bigger hand, if you need that for a chunky double stacker like the P99 then you'll likely find something like the 1911, Sig P200 etc very small in hand, maybe even uncomfortable.
I'd advise getting to a store or a skirmish site and having a fondle of one in person before splashing the dough on it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

Agreed, the 1911 is a totally different animal.

If you wait for the maruzen, you will be getting a rare piece, it may be nice to have something a little rarer, the 1911 is pretty common sight on the skirmish field.

A usp may be the stand in you are looking for if you cant wait.

I held the 1911 a few time's liked it felt comfortable and just looked ok not exactly how i want the gun but i know i can make changes to it....:)...
the others you listed all look the same dont mean to be fussy it just i no where your coming from i think il probably have to wait :)...
But thanks for the advice :)

If you're not mad about the USP, there's always the Hi-Cappa series, which is basically someones idea of an updated 1911. It's a bit more modern looking and a bit chunkier, but it still has the same looks and the unique functions like the grip-to-fire safety.
It's also got an amazing amount of aftermarket parts like custom metal slides, triggers etc and is a hell of a performer (particularly the TM ones). It's a nice middle ground between modern and 1911 which is still functional and comfortable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

    Re: Hi-capas

Be careful what brand you get, the WE series get very poor feedback in the long term, the quality and fit of parts is very loose.

If you dont find them hideously ugly, a TM brand one would be the way to go.

The Sigs are half German if that helps:). Can't go wrong with KJW if you're after a Sig.

I was looking at them the other day wont insert name but there nice pistolsbut there a bit mad looking as in robo cop :) but Im going to wait and get my self something second hand and then buy a p99 :D

Ah, I know the one you mean. There's about 20 different versions of the Hi-Cappa, the ugliest one of all being the Dragon type with the split slide design (sorry Giz, I think it looks woeful and I'm not alone!).

There are other Hi-Cappas available like the TM Dual Stainless, the 5.1 and the SVI style. It's worth a quick gander at the range, even I'm tempted by the Dual Stainless and I'm not a Hi-Cappa fan at all.

The P99 Compact is pretty small. Keep in kind that the magazine actually makes up part of the grip surface, so you'll need to get specific extra grips as well as specific extra mags. They are nice though.

I had that happen to me with my KWC P99, hillarious, although potentially very dangerous, the whole back part shot off complete with a heavy metal piece from inside, luckily I wasn't looking down the sights at the time, or I'd have gotten it right in the face.

I've heard great things about the maruzen one though, and have been considering replacing ye olde destructo pistol with one at some point.

I was present for The Artist Formerly Known As Vtec doing that with the very same, in Eirsoft. The metal slide exploded out of the back in spectacular fashion, and demolished a pricy LCD screen directly over his shoulder. Literally mils from his head. Amazing to watch.

Tony didn't believe a word of it when he came back into the shop a few minutes later of course. He probably still thinks the young fella saw the cursor move on the screen and opened fire on it.
