    Compared to other banks (eg. Aib/Boi?) Anyone have any opinions on this pros/ cons?

    I believe anything could happen to iL&p as anglo and after todays performance with aib-boi has shown, I will not invest in any bank or building soc untill some truth with their TRUE BAD debt exposure is released.

    They don't have the huge debt that AIB or Anglo have, but they're hopelessly under-capitalised and totally reliant on the inter-bank lending rate. The business model they operate would be very similar to British lenders like Northern Rock and Bradford and Bingley (both of whom have collapsed).

    There is definitely a decent chance that they could collapse and that you could lose everything.
