    Right so - wormhole drive.

Lantians - Could not get it to work
Replicators - either could not get it to work or didnt know of its existance
    Asguard - conventional hyperdrive

The Lantians where the single most advanced race ever to evolve (that we know of) and they could not perfect this technology

Yet now humans of earth are without a doubt the most advanced race in the galaxy (actually several galaxy's)

I know they need ZPM's to make it work but that wont be a problem forever, the city took 3 zpm's to fly normelly and those 3 zpms engaged the wormhole drive. The city needs 3 zpm's to fly because of its mass. A ship like a deadalus class ship is much smaller and requires only a single zpm to achive high speeds, since it has less mass than atlantis we can assume a single zpm would be enough to allow a deadalus class ship to use wormhole drive.

    1. SGU - why would they be lost on the destiny if earth can simply send a ship in "wormhole space" to go to where the gate/ship is/was

    2. Will this tech ever be used again?

i really think they went to far with this in the last SGA, i mean its interesting and all but simply put they are too advanced. i cant see any enemies being threatening when humans have such a tech advantage, its better than a borg transwarp hub ffs

And the funny thing is, not only did they get it to work, but they did so in a matter of minutes (without Rodney being annoying about how smart he was too). Fair play Zelenka!

Didn't the Asguard hyperdrive used to be extremely fast? As in a bit faster then that wraith hive ship that was equiped with ZPM's.

I doubt it because seeing as the Asguard handed all of their technology to Earth, you'd think the Deadalus etc would be well capable of matching whatever engine technology they had, they certainly implemented Asguard weaponry fairly well, and they couldn't keep up with the ZPM-powered Hive.

thats questionable really. Thors Chariot could travel insanely fast, getting to Earth from other parts of the galaxy within seconds.

shouldnt this be in the inconsistencies thread,

i think they are just leaving the option with universe, that they can spend a year or 2 developing the tech, and then do an atlantis and have the seige part 4 in unverse,

i really really hope they dont, at least not for 3-4 years,
